European Union Export Requirement for Members

The European Union has updated its export standards regardingantimicrobial use in dairy cattle. The updated standards identify 37antimicrobials that cannot be used in dairy cows producing milk for productsdestined for the EU market. Extensive industry outreach has confirmed thatthese antimicrobials are not currently used as standard practice in the dairyindustry. However, producers should consult their herd veterinarian to verifycompliance with the new requirements. No additional action is required ofproducers.
